COOP

Co-opThe Cooperative Education (Coop) Program offered by Bronte College of Canada is designed for students in Grade 11 and 12.

Co-op is a planned lea< span=""><>rning experience and integrates classroom theory with learning experiences in a workplace setting. Students are assessed by multiple performance evaluations conducted by the employer, teacher and student. Placements are arranged with approved employers for approximately 3-4 hours each day (either a.m. or p.m.) and are located within the Bronte College area, with access to local transportation. Co-op students are still able to take one or two other courses at Bronte while taking advantage of the co-op program. Students may use Co-op as one of the 18 compulsory credits they require to graduate with their OSSD.

Coop Education is a Credit Course

Offered as compulsory credit courses, the Coop program will reinforce and complement the academic courses that students have taken or will take.

Credits are granted based on the number of hours worked and multiple performance evaluations conducted by the employer, teacher and student.

For example, a student, who has taken or is taking International Business Grade 12 (BBB4M), will have an option of a Co-op placement with an Import/Export broker. The student receives one credit for completing BBB4M and one or more credits for the placement.
